Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

"Trailside Tree" ©
Plein Air (Open Air) painting is an "E" ticket at Disneyland, if you remember "E" tickets. Time is an issue, as the sun and earth are working together to change the shadows. Bugs are nibbling on your ears. The wind is tempting to tip your easel. And then there are days like today. A rustling in the brush alerted me, only to see a family of deer. The buck, doe and fawn hadn't discovered me yet and I was able to observe them for a very long time. What a wonderful world.

Laura, Bravo on this lovely tree. I can hear it in the breeze. Really nicely done.
