I was told that Aspen stands are the largest single organisms on the planet, every tree connected by one root system. In the summer the leaves flip in the wind, creating a sparkle dance in the breeze. Then once a year they give up their summer sparkle for gold, warning of the winter to come. Just like the grand finale of fireworks on the fourth of July.
