Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

"Malibu Lagoon"
As long as I kept painting the families of ducks would pass under the bridge that I was standing on. Eye contact, duck to human, and the little feathered buoys would swim off warily. This painting is from yesterday mornings SCAA paint out in the Malibu Lagoon.

I LOVE Malibu Lagoon... It is so beautiful and there are so many places and different scenes to paint.
Glad you had a nice time and as usual the paint came off your brush magically.
Where is Malibu Lagoon? Is it near Adamson House? That's one of my favorite places to paint in the LA area.
Malibu is a terrific place to paint. Ed, the lagoon is located where Cross Creek meets the Pacific Coast Highway. It has a parking lot and 2 paths to the ocean, over 2 small bridges with lagoon waters flowing around. Once on the beach you can see the Adamson House across the river that flows into the ocean. If you ever come down to paint, there is a bunch of us that would meet you there. (The Beauty of California Painters on Facebook)
