Today preparing for the upcoming Sierra Madre Art Fair I slipped in painting this little piece. The dance between framing, varnishing, figuring out inventory and the easel was non-stop. I need a couple more of me floating around the studio/house.

Hi Marian, Chantry Flats is in the San Gabriel Mountains above the Pasadena/Sierra Madre area. My Mom painted Charlie Chantry's cabin in the Sierra Madre Canyon a year before it was torn down for "modern" home. I painted this waterfall from a photograph that my parents neighbor gave them, shot last week. Mom didn't have time to paint it and offered it to me. I love being handed a image to have my way with!
