"Rocks of Papago" ©

In Scottsdale Arizona, Papago Park is the closest location I found to paint that was fairly safe and interesting. I painted this rock formation several times, exploring different ways to describe the stone in paint. Too early for snakes, other then one Jack Rabbit, all I had were birds for company.

At first I thought this was Vasquez... GREAT painting!

No, but the rock formations sure could be. The stone in Scottsdale had warmer shades of red, then Vasquez. But it would be interesting to go to Vasques right after a good rain storm and see the rocks all wet. I am glad you like this one, I loved painting there.
