"Early Morning Light" ©

One of the many things that Matt Smith taught me was to not work the whole painting to death, something I am very good at.  On this one I tried so very hard to keep a lot of the painting rather loose and just have fun in the paint.  If it flies with collectors, this is just a super fun way to paint and I'll do more.

"Rosario Beach" ©

Rosario Beach is near Deception Pass, and the location of the last painting posted.  You can see the islands of Washington offer painters stunning views everywhere you turn.  I wish I could have stayed longer as I only scratched the surface in exploring the area.  My next painting trip in a about a week is to San Luis Obispo, totally different palette and terrain.  I'll be painting in the plein air competition and can hardly wait to get going.

"Sandy Trail" ©

This trail winds under the cypress trees down to the ocean along the Big Sur coast.  I'll be painting in Carmel in a few weeks during the 19th Annual Carmel Art Festival and looking forward to meeting the other artists and painting my "socks" off.
