Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

"Zion Morning" ©
Zion National Park is a wonderland of stone, trees and wildlife. Today's painting is my attempt to capture the early morning light that bathed my family as we hiked the canyon.
Oil on Canvas, 11" X 14"

Lovely, warm painting!
Wonderful colors -
Thanks Ladies, today I cleaned this painting up a bit. The trees are tied down to the earth with some darkness, the creek has more defined banks on the left and I pushed the light more in the trees and cliff. Somehow in the morning I see so many details that are lacking. Thank you for the encouragement and time very much, Laura
