"Mendocino Headlands" ©

My goal in this painting was to draw the viewer into the arch that the ocean formed out of stone and if possible make it believable. The water and rocky cliffs are a whole different set of colors compared to Southern California and it was a nice break today to paint the "Mendocino Headlands".

Oil on canvas, 8" X 10"

bravo on acheiving your goal- and I love the way you treated the rocks, they're lovely!

Thanks Kellie, appreciate the comment very much. The collector wanted the same view that I painted a long time ago, but I knew I could paint it better now with more experience, so she sent me a new photo and I gave it another shot. This paintint is much better and looks very good in person. whew....
