"Fields Of Frontenay" ©

I arrived home from France happy and tired. Painting and living with a group of women artists from across the U.S. was an experience of a lifetime. This painting was the first piece of the trip and a typical view for the region. While painting the church bells rang out the time, at one point I thought a cow was singing with the bells. Later I found out that the cow just knew that it was the "dinner" bell and she was really hungry.

This is wonderful, Laura. I have been waiting to see what you painted there - it's just luminous.

I wonder about the cow - doesn't she graze all day, or maybe she gets a treat at dinnertime?

Good thing you are a cow painting expert, too - it seems like there were lots of them there.

Thank you Karen, I missed you and wish you and my buddy Lorelle were painting with us. About the cows, they have eaten all that grows in their pasture, so they have a schedule: 10am Breakfast, 1pm nap, 6pm dinner. And boy do they know it, they start bellowing right on que!
