Walking out the back door of the Comfort Inn in Alamosa Colorado last week, this sunrise view greeted us. One of the other travelers giggled and said "hey, that looks like a painting", I grinned back with a "OH YEAH".
Oil on Linen, 16" X 20"
Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

Beautiful!!
Glad you're back.... Painting already, eh???
Someone told me that Gamblin ground is really expensive. Is it?? Still I imagine all the sanding and re"grounding" is less expensive than buying new canvases!
Thanks Marian, About the expense of the Gamblin Ground. All things are relative. It is probably more expensive then just a standard gesso, but the surface you get to paint on after you are done is 1000 times better. It paints just like an oil primed surface rather then an acrylic primed. It's definitely less expensive then buying new canvas and a lot more convenient for me. Plus it feels better, not adding all that paint, wood, canvas, gator board etc. to the landfill.
