Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

"A bit Of Wistaria" ©
The Sierra Madre Annual Wistaria Festival is right around the corner, March 30th. Today I was reminded of the upcoming celebration of the lovely vine and with that thought in mind I painted "A Bit Of Wistaria".
Oil on Canvas, 8" X 6"

Another lovely painting that is a bit different!
I like it. You have such a talent for sending some parts of the painting "back" and highlighting other parts with bits of light and color!
This is so graceful and the light is just perfect. I love the colors and the line qualities. You took a complicated composition and made it make sense. Very nice!
In North Carolina it is called Wisteria, by the way. I don't know if they spell it and pronounce it differently in California. We won't see it blooming until April or May. It's always a treat.

Thank you Marian and Cheryl. Actually it's spelled both ways here. Spell check likes your spelling, but the festival used this one. Funny you caught that, spelling abilities were not included in my talent tool chest when mother nature put my cells together, so I appreciate all the help I can get. Laura
