Last evening I finished this painting in celebration of the opening of "Chasing Open Spaces IV" this evening. Joining me in this exhibit of plein air and studio paintings historically documenting the natural areas of the Santa Clarita Valley are Lorelle Miller, Ernie Dollman, Rod Edwards and Alan Garber.

First, Laura, I like the colors... then I admire the way you've handled the rest....
Leafy details near the center of interest and muted colors in the rest to bring meaning to the work.... very nice!!
Sooooo WHEN does the show open???
Thanks Ruth and Marian, Chasing Open Spaces is hanging now at the Canyon Theatre in Old Town Newhall. If you go check out Alan Garbers paintings, we have added him to the artist roster and his work is just right on. My show at Segil doesn't hang until November 1, so I am tweaking and painting non stop till then. It's odd, sometimes I look around the studio and think I have more then enough finished pieces, other times I look around panicked that I'll be short. Show nerves. Another note: I have a new camera so I hope the images are a bit better then in the past. See you soon, maybe South Pasadena for the CAC show? Laura
