"Hansen Dam, Winter IV"

Still soaking up all I can from the Hansen Dam adventure, I took one of the small studies and painted a larger view of Hansen Dam in the winter.

Oil on canvas, 20" X 24"

You ARE painting up a storm, aren't you?
The trees create a nice frame for the beautiful scene behind.

Hi Marian,
This painting is about 1/2 finished. Once this layer is dry, I am going to create interest in the foreground, re-state the trunks in different values and move one of the the masses of brush in the water back to a different plane. Also I want to create a third value in the distant mountain to add to the structure/bones of it. Then I want to put the leaves in again but create a light pattern. Most of this has to happen later, what you see is painted pretty thin. I hope in the end it will be a nice gallery piece. It's great to be painting again, post holidays. I am sure you are back at it fast and furious too. Keep the brush wet! Laura

Beautiful paintings.........I love the golden yellow effects and the water.

I've been here several times but what keeps putting me off from leaving a comment is that there's no provision for independent bloggers. I just started my own self hosted blog just last month and am slowly making my rounds to beautiful blogs like yours.

My blog add is www.art-devine-slasher.com/blog. Hope you don't mind my putting my add here.

Just wanted to really say I love your works. Do you have a blog network on facebook?

Hi Nokolika, welcome to blogging. I haven't ventured into facebook, wanting to keep as much easel time as possible. Facebook is probably in my future. Good luck with your independent blog. Laura
