Our valley is laced with sandy river beds, lined with Yucca plants, Oak trees, Sage brush and Cotton Wood trees. Over the years horses have traveled in and along these riverbeds creating deep paths in the soft sand. I originally painted this path in plein air, with only Hawks and Jack Rabbits for company. Painting this small piece let my mind travel back to that warm afternoon.
