"Early Morning, Pico Canyon" ©

Very early in the morning it's difficult to get the oil paint to "move" on the panel, due to the cold. Today I experimented with working exclusively with a tiny palette knife. It felt wonderfully juicy and powerful.

Thank you Katherine, it was very different for me. I usually just use the palette knife for mixing and a few branches or hard edges here and there. A few people have emailed requesting more knife work. So, I think I'll go at it again.
