The sun showed herself today and a few of us went out painting in what we call "Rod's field". I can walk there from my place and I was thinking how lucky I am to have a lovely spot so close to home.
Oil on panel, 8" X 10"
Small daily oil paintings, painted in a plein air impressionistic style on stretched canvas or canvas board created and posted regularly. 2012 update: After 6 years, the postings now include larger paintings along with the small works. My goal is to reach 1,000 paintings posted by the end of this year. 2013 update: The original goal was met and exceeded, from now on I will post paintings that are successful or might be of interest.

Driving along the 210 Freeway near Lake View Terrace/Sunland the Tujunga wash provides seasonal delights. Sometimes it's a field of Yucca plants blooming, other times spring greens with rushing water and my favorite a blaze of reds.
Today I finished a studio/large painting of the smaller Pacific Cliff. The palette was beautiful full of purple and peach, almost edible..jpg)
